to get back on topic, and to reiterate what I am saying a little clearer

- I am only really telling new players to avoid the east if it is possible
- Once you have the resources and ability to build a fortress like Fnord, I highly recommend this area
- I also completely condone griefing, stealing and murdering at any of the villages I mentioned once you have your fortress built

I am only warning players who do NOT have the resources to build a fortress to stay away from any goon-populated area, because I have heard many stories and speak from experience when I say that goons are griefers.

Crime will get you killed in most areas, this is true.

But simply pissing off a goon on IRC is enough to get SinJin or Squidgy to take their hands out of their pants and punch down your palisades and destroy every item you own.

OP speaks truth either way though, unless you find a way to be just inside the rules with a hearthvault, don't do crazy shit, once you find a way to do so though, go do whatever the hell you want! Steal, kill, rape, it's all fair game.

They were not my negotiations, nor was I asked to pay or do anything, I simply asked some questions, and even proposed a trade agreement

But thank you for proving that even silly altercations over IRC private chats can ultimately lead to some of the highest level characters in the game breaking in to your village and stealing/destroying everything you own and then hiding in Fnord

Other things to do in order to avoid basement dwelling goons raging on your village -

- Never acknowledge or speak to any authoritative figure on #haven, just incase they are in a bad mood

- Never kin, party or befriend a goon, in-game, in irc or otherwise

- If you accidentally encounter a goon in game or are forced to engage in conversation with one, make them feel like they are ultimately not as pathetic and obese as we are all sure that they are. Goons are a self-important internet subculture of uninteresting people who like to be praised. It's sad but true, complimenting a neckbearded loser may be your ticket to survival.

I don't see what your beef with the Xanadu area is, I have lived close to xanadu for a long time and the people nearby have been nice.

I don't have any specific beef with Xanadu, I am just warning people without a murder fortress to stay away from the general area if they enjoy exploring and/or not kissing self-important ass on irc.

Xanadu is a landmark and is often used by nearby goons as a trading post instead of Nople. Therefore I believe it is worth warning people about.
