Why cant i hit this deer?

I don't know much about melee, but I've seen this happen on deers before.

Its seems when you stands at a certian spot, the deer when trying to reach you gets kind of stuck when it reaches you (point blank) but can't attack as the code tells the deer its not able to hit you and it will keep "trying" to reach you even though its right in front of you.

Its wierd but funny.
