Well you can get LP for gathering branches/chipping stone for the first 1000 LP. What you probbaly want to do is to set up some wicker basket containers to store your stuff. That should be enough to get your some LP. Building a lean-to helps as well. In general building helps grant LP as well as help you get your home established.

What I did was make lots of fires, that could help. I did it for the first 200 lp until lumberjacking, then I cut down trees. Try going to your personal beliefs slider and going towards change or peaceful.

Yeah, make fires or stone axes till 200 lp, then get carpentry and cut down trees for another 200, get carpentry and then just work on a building a house.

You better slide it towards peaceful, because the change slider will move along anytime you move another slider. This will increase your learning ability btw.
