I think it needs to destroy all built mines once a 3-4month... so every mine used will be built again, and unused ones will be taken by noobs :)

I've looked for a mine for almost a month and all I found is a cave mine that had iron in it. Sadly I couldnt even get to it. They were the most long and elaborate tunnels I've ever been in. There were about 5(that i found) caves around the area and it was detecting the iron in one of those caves, but I could never really pin its exact location due to all the caves. I eventually gave up after running out of torches and light sources.

That was the closest I've ever gotten to some precious minerals :(

It was months ago when I found it.(took a long break from the game) I can't remember now. If I could remember I would have tried to get to it still.

Indeed, something like that would be nice.

Damn... It's already so absurdly hard for we who started a bit later and I keep hearing that caves are our best chance, but many caves sure are deep and hard to navigate...
I was thinking of making an alt to worship the ancestors and pray for metal, but even the metal they offer isn't that great. You need so much metal to make anything worthwhile, and there are huge chances the metal will be turned to stone before you can even get that far... So I guess ancestral worship isn't a reasonable way to get the metal you need unless you have a full tradition alt and easy access to EVERYTHING (every seed, crop, cooked item, cloth item, wax, you name it). And even then you can get stupid tin and copper instead of cast iron, and it doesn't look like you can do a whole lot with tin/copper or even the bronze from combining them... If you have access to EVERYTHING like that, you'd probably be better off finding someone to trade with.
RIP

I said it's total waste of time searching for surface mines. Even cave mines are not worht searching coz 90% of them are so deep in cave you will get old before u will reach mine with boat and two chests in it on ur head... :(
