I advice you to read the wiki about combat first before approaching an animal. UC is strong aswell but you need a high lvl to actually kill something. I advice you to train marksman first to use slings.

last world my group used a mixture of MC and UA to kill people.

MMS was purely high-tier PVP and hunting.

in other words, MMS for hunting, UA/MC for player-versus-player.

DUDES, stop feeding crap to him.
Slings got nerfed, so no, mm is NOT good for hunting anymore.
UA is the best at the moment, as metal may take some time to get (even then melee isnt 'better', its different), and mm doesnt cut it (not at all in pvp).

have fun going up to a level 10 bear and punching it.

be reasonable, its better to do like, 7 damage at a time than to be instantly killed.

slings make the cut just fine.

Bears can break through barriers, it's best if I strange it to death.
