Nah, i need to get the fix to GET music. I don't know how to solve your problem besides using the main client.

Sorry to bump, but i figured it out, in the gilbertus client, the music can be controlled by certain commands, as outlined here.

Just type in :bgm , then press enter, and it should temporarily kill any music playing.

Cheers

I'm using this same client. I can turn music on and off no probs, but I can't seem to get sound effects enabled. I have no game sounds with music on or off.

I'm not the most tech savvy guy out there though... help please?

Let's hope for a good answer then ;) Btw, I can enable/disable music through the ":bgm..." command, the actual option/tick box in the client audio option does not do shit... to the effect that it is unticked and will not tick no matter how i try click it. Could this be the problem? And since I know there are a huge amount of knobs on the forums: Yes, i have checked the sound volume and it is not at 0%.

Ok, so try this, if it's not a corrupt file, then it might be the client that's muted. We'll get to the corrupt file thing later.

Go here. There's a list of console commands that is supplied by the wiki.

The one you will want to try is as such; " :sfxvol 1 " this should essentially tell the client that the volume should be set according to the decimal value percentage, ie; 0 = 0%, .5 = 50%, and 1 = 100%.

You can set it to >100%, but it causes even greater audio distortion than is already present.

If this doesn't work, try getting another version of the client you have, another setting might have been incidentally changed, and instead of delving deeper into the troubleshooting, it could very well be solved by getting a fresh copy.

cheers

Thanks for the comprehensive troubleshooting advice and ideas.

I tried ":sfxvol1" and ":sfxvol 1" but get "no such command" returned in both instances. I will try get a fresh copy of the client.
