Smart thieves have a thief alt and a storage alt. Since you cannot summon the person that has the stolen items in their inventory, you can even place their hf outside. When the scents have worn off you can transfer the stolen goods to your main.

Obvious exception to the rule above are items that you can't store in your inventory. Metal cauldrons, plows, meat grinders and the like.

Which i'd assume you'd place inside with a palisade around it.

i beleive the answer is no because its gone. i think they can still track the perpetrator and HF though. although i may be wrong

I don't know why you have done this hideous and pointless color thing, but no, it will say "The item is nowhere to be found."
