Do cave-ins occur if you only mine one tile into cave wall (while making sure to stand in the cave, not on an already mined out tile)?

Do cave-ins occur if you only mine one tile into cave wall (while making sure to stand in the cave, not on an already mined out tile)?

Haven't seen it happen, course that doesn't expressley mean it cannot, for that reason and the recent discovery of the trollottery I usualy leave mining to relatively disposable alts.
