You'll get a new "teleport to village" option in the adventure->travel menu that will port you next to the idol. Make sure you have some empty Travel Weariness to use it though, unlike the hearthfire teleport it can't be used if your TR is full.

Yeah I guess I should give some notice to anyone who might be living there. I don't want to steal it out from someone who's actually there.

They have living cows and sheep eating the tiles, so I guess I can wait and see if they die. Kinda weird they'd leave those behind, but I''m sure there hasn't been an attaack, there's no corpses or scents or signs of forced entry.

I guess I'll make a topic warning them of their vulnerability, then move in for the goods if no one seems to respond and the cows die

Bust your way in, create a new gate, and keep the cows to yourself. If they come back, just say you were taking care of the place for them. I seriusly doubt it tough, so now you enjoy some free cows, sheeps, and other stuff. Probably the players stopped playing.
