Palisades on full peaceful and full change are amazingly profitable. Palisading my island, I got 40k lp.

Plus you should be palisading anyhow, just to keep your little budding town safe until you can get brick walls.

Once you start getting a bit of exploration and perception, and get your learning ability up, foraging can be real nice for LP starting out. If you can't raise your perception yet, you'll need 6 Exploration just to start seeing the Wild Windsown Weeds, but you'll need around 4 times that to see *all* of them. But still, foraging blueberries, stinging nettles and spindly taproots at full change can give you over 100 LP a pop, so that's not bad starting out.

And yeah, I'd be wary of making houses "just because" until you get set up and see what land you want to use for other things. Build storage to go *in* the houses first.

As people said perc*expl is the way to go. Foraging gives decent lp, seeds to get started, rustroot and you can trade chantrelles and mussels/pearls with villages for iron. Brick wall should be out of the question right now, it will cost more than what it will be protecting. Palisades should be enough except if you are planning to become targets.

The only real cost for a minehole is the hardened leather since a community with hunters and farmers can get the other materials pretty fast so get started on wax production. But finding an unclaimed cave may be much faster.

To find yourselves on the map just find a lake, swamp or heath and look for that on the map, it's not that hard.

Generally my advice would be take it one step at a time. When you have 1 expl you shouldn't be worried about brick walls or mines...

in the beginning a big timber house isnt useful. but soon it will be too small and you'll make a timber house anyway. why didnt you do so in the first place? And if you use the blocks from the stumps from trees you cut, you'll use even less trees anyway

the most usefull thing to buy points in in the beginning is explore, up to 15 or so, since that will allow you to spot a lot of stuff. Considering how much lp the average nettle gives, and all that other stuff. You need it to find wild windsown weeds anyway, which you need to start a farm

I think you get aroud 10 lp for each piece of material you use... Meaning that for a hundred wooden blocks you get approximately 1000 lp.
