Give it a try, you cross the river, give TeckX his numbers: PROFIT
Lag while you're in the middle of the river: eeeeerrrrrrrr.... you know what I mean :)

Just click the other side once from the start, if you lag, you'll just come out on the otherside a-okay.

It is this old phobia that I'm trying to dispel. All of us from w3 are still terrified of swimming even though it's perfectly safe for us now. Hopefully we'll be able to figure out exactly how safe or dangerous it really is =D

About this, how do you estimate the CON it would it take to cross a average river?

It would be nice if you could do some swimming testing with a water flask too. 2 litres of quality 10 water ( the best I have found, as it doesn't fill up your stamina to fast, thus ending the drinking, and denying one the rest of his water) does the trick. Started swimming most rivers with 20 constitution, if it helps gauge anything for people who are skeptical.
You may have foiled the plans of BAD-EVIL this time, but there is no rest for the wicked.

10 con will get you ~5 tiles. 20 con will get you ~7. You can probably cross most rivers at 30-40 con, just to be safe. Be sure to be at full stamina. Only a handful of people ever gave me numbers so I wasn't able to deduce any definitive answer.

Also, if you are wearing metal or any type of heavy equipment, will you lose stamina faster?

Nope. That isn't factored into the formula at all, just your con. You lose stamina for moving and idling, though moving eats more of it.

I know in w4 I was able to cross about 6 tiles with about 40 sta. I haven't tried yet this world. Can't seem to get any con yet... maybe now that pumpkins are fixed.

I do remember the old thread you started on this. Hopefully the numbers are the same or even more favorable for swimming.
