Now sure about foxes but I had a bear destroy things while fleeing before. It ran into a hearthfire and destroyed it.

Not sure about above but afaik, Foxes, boars and bears will destroy signs, and berars will also destroy roundpoles/things weaker than a palisade(Maybe boars too? Idk.)
They shouldn't flee at all if they are closed in enough.

I've seen a boar spawn in a space trapped with signs. It was right beside the river. So I just shot it until it was wussy and it didn't break any signs.

animals usually let fences intact when they are running away. they only deystroy things while chasing you
