you will find that it is much easier to trap it with sign posts and then shoot it
note that if you try this tactic larger animals can brack signs :)

a friend i play the game with says just to build fences around them, only takes branches.

i usually just block them in with signs so they cant move then fence myself in incasee i do not block right, but they do not seem to break out of the signs

that is completely wierd, they have never broken any thing that ive tried to trapp them with, i only was hurt by them back in my (not so long ago) noob days when i never blocked right.
and i am certain that they do not break fences, even if i am wrong about the posts, (which i belive im not) :P

I have played w3 and thus first thing I did in w4 was I have blocked fox with fence and he broke the fence and killed me (well K.O.ed me) so don't try to play whatever you play. FOX break FENCES (exclamation mark). No doubt about it. If he did not break the fence to you, you are just lucky.

BTW: Animals dont break sutff if they are trying to run from you... maybe that is the case. But careful, if they turn around and chase you back, they break stuff again, even though their icon is showing the peace-branch. I lost two LCs and several boats because of this.
