you don't need metal for cheesemaking and you should have plenty of time for a batch or two of cellar cheddar before the reset

You do need metal for that cellar, though.

boars will hurt you. depends on the level of the boar how much they hurt you.

Level your melee more, and then hunt boars.

How high should I level melee? It's at 7 or 8, and I can't kill a fox. My str will increase my health, but I can't level it until I can hunt boars. I'm in a circle here!

Don't try foxes until you can kill cows, and don't try boars until you can kill foxes.

I couldn't kill cows until I was at least 10 or 15 melee.

Better weapons help somewhat; I think all I had was a stone axe when killing cows.

The map reset is apparently still at least 1 and a half weeks away, not 1 week from last Friday.

I'm a generous sort; if you can catch me online, I can give you the cast for a cauldron. Meeting at the ROB means you won't have to carry it far. (Of course you may have already got one from the other poster.)

Here's how I got around early: Get archery put 6-10 into Marksman and go nuts on level 1 things.

Then dump the rest into Melee/Unarmed.

I can kill cows at level 7 melee, but any better weapons that don't need metal? I could try archery I guess... I little cumbersome though.

I could give you a the key to my old abandoned fort, it still has the ability to make cheese unless someone busted the walls down and destroyed all the racks. If you work quick you might actually be able to make some cave cheddar there.
