Ender's client. Open options and enable zooming. Use the mouse wheel.

i still think bows and such should have a range cap because of this feature, just seems a tad bit annoying for those who dont use custom clients

Maybe im wrong but from my understanding your sight area won4t enlarge when you zoom, sure you will see land you normally won4t, but you won4t see anything else. In the picture posted you can4t see the trees in half the picture, you wont see people there, neither animals plants or whatever, not even palisade if there is one, so i don4t really see what adventage it give. It give none, its pure fluff. You still won4t be able to shoot at someone you can4t see anyway. The area where you can see stuff is the same for all clients anyway, am I right?

Bows and etc do have a range cap of short. Further away you are, the slower the aim bar fills up. Obviously a high enough MM can counter this but yeah...

Side note, palisade busting for shits and giggles takes a fair amount of strength. I don't think we'll be seeing that much Str for a little while yet. From what I've gathered battering rams only come out over serious grievances.

Side note about enders. The game devs haven't stated anything against it as far as I'm aware. It's easy as hell to install. It lets you turn night off when you're outside (thank you, my eyes hurt so much from foraging in the dark).

Just... yeah just get it. It's amazing. Also if you're really worried about them breaking into your mine, feel free to build a palisade in it around the entrance. Bigger villages brickwall the underground sections from what I've read.

You are correct. The advantage is that you can see max in every direction and not be taken by surprise as you scroll around to see.

Bows have a range limit of 40 tiles.

I don't follow... If someone makes a game, and implements things the way that they feel they should be implemented... And then someone else comes along and makes a mod that changes things to make it easier for those who have the mod, does that not qualify as an "unfair advantage" over the people who choose to use the original client ? For example, walking through a forest becomes a whole lot safer if you can see bears and other hazards from three screen lengths away... As well as see people hiding behind trees, etc...

It's akin to giving yourself a rear view mirror in COD.

It isn't really fair, but there are players who don't care about fairness and will use the client anyway, and then the only way to contend with them is to use a modded client as well. It's a vicious cycle but it's the way things are unless Jorbtar introduce some sort of countermeasure.

seeing as it is publicly available, no. it is not "unfair"

It's definitely wrong that some clients can do things like turn off DARKNESS. Why exactly were torches and such implemented in the game if you were intended to have nightvision?

That said, I don't hesitate to use these programs. It's an alpha, and I assume eventually they will close up these loopholes.
