This seems a rather nasty side effect of the otherwise grand new LP system.
It looks to me, as if this means that the gap between people with metal, and people without metal just grew exponentially.
Basically it comes down to: trading for metal is now pretty useless, until you get some village crazy enough to let you in to use their mine, and their forge, just to learn the recipes nescessary to actually use the metal you buy.
As if any village in their right mind would allow that?
So, until you either are lucky enough to find some ore yourself, this means: No cellar, no decent cheese, no meatgrinder, no brickwalls, and possibly no lotsa other crap thet I forgot.
Before, you could just work your ass off gathering chantarelles and cavebulbs, to trade for the oh-so needed metal; you can now work your ass off gathering chantarelles and cavebulbs, to find out the metal you traded for is useless, because you cannot make anything from it.
Please, Jorb, Loftar, could you consider making a small change to mechanics that will make it possible to unlock the metal recipes from bought metal bars?
Ready to wamble!
