For the most part, I think I'll be able to convert the character. For example, we recently devalued the skill attributes by a factor of ten, and I just convert older characters to the new set of attributes as they are loaded. I don't see anything which couldn't be solved that way being implemented in the foreseeable future, at least. And if it comes to the point where older characters would hopelessly outmatch new characters, maybe I'll just deposit all the old ones an umpteen miles away from where any new ones will spawn. :)

I think I read that someone else made the rune stone and assumed that you had a database there somewhere that you could just execute a query on (select text, xPos, yPos from objects where type = 'runestone' and text like '%mine%' or something similar) and then do some black coder magic to turn it into a mine without logging in.

I plan on intentionally migrating myself when I get high enough. There's a nice little spot in the red ring that I have chosen.

My main concern is that right now there are people getting huge amounts of LP from combat that consists of 'get normally ridiculously strong creature stuck in tree, shoot repeatedly' and it would be nice to have a fresh start sometime after enemies are smart enough to walk around stuff (or can detect when they're being abused).

I've setup a small colony for a friend and I, and we would appreciate a mine once it is convenient for one of you to make a mass-mine-mayhem-mania event.

I -really- hate to be whiny, but... I haven't gotten any response on the request I made via PM to the devs, and I'd like to know if it just hasn't been noticed, or if I'm low priority, or if there's a reason I'm not getting a mine, or whatever. I'd like SOME sort of feedback, at least.

The main reasons why we're not getting back to many of you is 1) because we haven't been able to decide on any kind of policy for granting mines and 2) it's kind of hard to coordinate the mine-placing with your logged-in times. Currently, we're thinking of spawning a number of randomly places mines over the map, quite simply.

Well, I'm logged on a LOT, but the first reason makes sense. Okay. I guess if you decide to do that, I'll relocate to a mine, since it's important to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Malicus, but aren't you homesteaded very close to the mine at Brodgar?
