so said animal doesn't have a health bar that tells me how much more hhp it has remaining? =/

also how rare are Peculiar Flotsam with an explore of 12?

Nope. Just keep track of the damage that you've done to it. You can tell when a bear has <200 HP though when its eyes flare into fire.

I honestly don't know exact numbers for Flotsam yet but I think it's safe to venture that you probably won't find more than 2 or 3 a day.
