You must remove the wax before taking out honey (right click on the hive and select the option to remove wax). Taking out honey will destroy wax in the hive

taking honey does NOT destroy wax when it is accumulated enough to harvest.
i always take honey first to check the quality of wax to harvest.

Was always taught to do the opposite myself, but then again hermits aren't always the most informed teachers

well tonight I got some wax. No idea what made it happen, we'll see if I get any quicker wax now that it's on the go

Empirically untruth.

We always gather honey as soon as we see it (and did it whole W3 ) and we always got the shitload of wax.

The only key point is having most possible crops variation in the beehives range and must is having carrots and beetroot there. Seems to be connected not only to the growing stage, but also to the harvestable stage, which carrots are best for (having 3 harvestable stages).

Only tip about wax is that once you gather them you need to do it every day if you want to have its quality to raise, if you don't gather it regularly its quality drop and won't go up.

Not gathering it won't cause it's quality to change from my experience. However, wax quality is tied to honey quality. Not gathering the honey will keep the quality down just like mixing any other fluids. The only thing that could possibly cause it to drop is not having any growing crops in the area.

seems like with us letting the honey fill to 1 liter and not collecting it will cause a lot of wax to be made
