A level XI bear hit me 10 times and didnt even hurt me when I was wearing just a bronze plate, so deflection is good. If you have good enough AGI use metal armor, if not or you cant afford it, just using leather is good enough.

this is a story on world 4,
a friend of mine decided to execute a thief, destroyed his hf, and summoned him at secure place.
the thief was wearing a cuirass and bunny slippers.
my friend with q70+ wooden bow at 100+MM iirc, dont recall his per/arrow quality, could not do any damages after so many shots. he decided to punch him to death at 20 or something UAC and the perp died.
when he finally looted the thief's body, his cuirass was merely q20.

If that's true, then it never got through your defence bar. Pretty sure animals use Unarmed attacks, 30% penetrates through your armor.
