Then plant fir, elm, or birch trees. They have a pretty fast generational cycle. Fir is preferred. Oak can take a couple of weeks to mature, and 2-3x as long as fir to get to seeding stage (stage just before mature). Fir can get better cones within just a few RL days. Heck, maple and pine grow faster than oak does.

Also, I'll confirm the second post for the 5x5 area for medium sized trees.

Is there a table of growth times somewhere? My wiki searching/forum searching did not reveal any other info.
Thanks in advance!

There is no growth speed that's defined. I believe it's based on decay hits (?), and as such is subject to java random. There's merely comparative growth. It's kind of hard to put a real time on it because of that.

I'd say roughly a fir can hit full size on average in 4-5 days. Mulberry trees seem to take about a week. And someone posted earlier that bigger trees take 2-3 weeks. This is just my limited experience.

There was a growth chart somewhere. I haven't looked for it in a while. It listed the time to get to the next to last stage, which is constant. The final stage is what is based on the decay hit (and why mulberry trees take so freaking long).

(Just double checked. It was under the "Tree" entry, but the growth times have been removed.)

Theere is a continous growt of the tree until it reaches the last stage. To grow into the last stage, it must be hit with a decay hit, so several trees planted at the same time may fully mature a bit differntly. Hence why its not all that easy to make a accurate table, but a semi accurate table would be nice.

Considering that claims prevent decay, should trees be planted on non-claimed land?

Claims prevent buildings that normally belong outside from decaying. The tiles will still take decay hits and things like looms, winepresses, and cupboards will take damage and terrain changes still occur.
