Half the speed of sling, but a bit short of double the sling's damage. So yeah, slightly worse DPS.

I dont know sabi.... I never liked missing with my q100 arrows in w3 when they "nerfed" slings for hunting.

Ammo's expensive :(

If hunting is your main activity bows are just awsome imo, one shoot kill is just easy work. But i wouldn't use a bow below 100mm, just like using a sling with less than 50mm is just amateurish to me.

you're forgetting the damage from arrow maybe?

*sigh* yeah...

anyway i'm not saying i love bows or anything, but it's more of a matter of preference at a certain point. being able to take a couple quivers of arrows with you vs having to stop and chip rocks is nice, smaller inventory does suck, one hitting anything smaller than a bear is nice, but slings are only 1 hand slot, shoot a bit faster, bla bla bla.

Yeah, forgot arrow

But we also forgot that you can wear traveller sack with sling, so yeah, I think it still wins.

While I agree its dps is lower, the alpha damage of a bow can't be ignored imo. Just troll around with some serious inventory space in your boat (wooden chests or large chests preferably) and you can store the meat in there. And you usually don't have to leave your boat ever since you're killing animals in one hit right on shore.

Why would you ever need concentrated damage for hunting?

well, for X deer, obviously.
Not that that is terribly important...Im firmly on the sling side of the debate here.

So they don't run actually. I'd argue that making an animal run and killing it X tiles inland (or waiting for it to come back) is far more of a time drain than the bows speed drawback is. Especially if you're going around with valuable chests in your boat. The closer you are to it, the less likely you'll get them stolen at some point.
