lol ... It it just me ... or are things getting even more confusing in this topic.

Anyway ... my summarize test.
- Initial question: How to drop items, that are picked up, in a way that they line op nicely. (yep, cabinets being a real bitch if you don't know how.)
- Best answer: "For setting items down, shift+rclick to align to grid. When building shift+click to move the construction sign off the grid."
- Seemingly start of confusion: "but I don't see it." ... that was in relation to the fact that I did not see a poll. Not that I did not see a good answer. (and the poll remark was of course in relation to a seeming useless quote-only reply. Without any additional information. Not even a +1. (not much effort? ... lazy bastard is more like it. ;-) )

Not sure why the CTRL-L was dropped in ... but CTRL-L works fine ... If you need to do some tiles counts measuring. Or long distance aligned placement of objects. Like in planning a long and straight road segment for example. ... CTRL-L was of course the best way before there was the Ender-client with its nice Show-Grid feature.

Ctrl+L is a deprecated feature. Some of the old timers (prior to w3) can probably explain it better than I, but by my understanding, this was how land was claimed prior to personal claims (and village claims?). It does have it's uses, though don't expect it to stay in the client forever. (No idea why anyone mentioned it, either.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
