What I do is take all my trash seeds from genetic farming and plant grass in a giant patch, then I plow all over that and basically farm for a moor. I'm working towards heath after the moor spots increase. Gotta keep plowing though

What's so desirable about heath?

That's because mulberries are a broadleaf though. Grassland seems to operate as a type of broadleaf forest. I have them planted in coniferous forest and I'm hoping they'll change it into broadleaf so the bloody things will grow faster xD

Use birch or elm to terraform with. They mature much faster than mulberry trees. I've got mulberries a month old that still haven't matured.

It's not exactly terraforming. I've just got a mulberry grove (2 fully mature now) that I'd like to be mulberry soil. They don't seem to be doing anything though, and there's no native trees near it.

There are only two types of forest: coniferous and deciduous. Pine and fir grow in coniferous natively, everything else is deciduous. Elms and birch are the best trees for converting coniferous to deciduous. As the forest spreads, your mulberry trees will grow faster.
