Actually, I don't remember the exact formula either :P

But IIRC it was based on square root, so the bonus gets less significant as your stats increase.

With odds that stacked in your favor why not? Just don't overdo it with hurt FEPs. All they do is hurt your HHP if you get them.

I don't get why you would use hurt FEPs to grab the diversity bonus. Isn't it better to use another q1 food that gives another FEP ?

Let's say I am raising my agility. So I eat honet buns, rabbit meat, rabbit sausage... and to save food I reduce again the FEP total by eating a carrot instead of the q1 onion you suggest.

Worst case scenario I gain 1 PER where you would have gain 1 Hurt. Seems much better to me. :?:

(And if you need 2 types of food for diversity, 1 carrot and 1 peapod and so on without using hurt fep food).

It is true that you can use anything you want. That said, onions and carrots grow the fastest of any crop. I don't know about you but any food that is grown will surely find a home in someones stomach shortly so faster growing, high yield crops are preferred over slower growing ones. Onions are particularly low maintenance, much like carrots, and so they top high on my list of useful foods. The odds of the 0.2 FEP points biting you in the butt are low enough that it is almost a non-concern =)

Well, being a hermit with huge fields I certainly don't have that kind of problem... It is just me and my alts that I have to feed.

In fact, quite the contrary. I find it difficult to eat all of my food and have something like 20+ cupboards full of food at all time

Then rejoice in your prosperity =)
In this case, you can afford to be much more picky and choosy with what you eat and your prior statements are absolutely correct, you have no reason to eat onions raw.

I have only one thing to say for those that are saying "Never eat anything with black FEP": Wonderful Wilderness Wurst.
