i dont think you can change the damage (unless you use unarmed, in which case "knock his teeth out" does 2x damage and "strangle" does 1.5x)

The fact is I want a high damage attack to finish the animal/player before it runs off. How do you guys do it?

For now I just reduced their defense to 0 with unarmed then used Sting Like A Bee to get a quick Sting as a finisher. Is there a better way to do it?

Valorous Strike has a weight of 1.75x Melee, which is why you don't need as much MC as you do UA. Also, keep in mind that val strike will reset combat advantage to 0, regardless of whether or not it does damage.

Valor Strike also takes a shitload of time to recover as well.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

but if you're using a good sword, it'll be the last thing your opponent sees, so it wont matter :D
though if your melee combat is that weak, you probably dont have a sword that sexy >_>

So what's a good ratio of UA:Melee to make successful finishing blows with swords? I always kept it 5:1

That's entirely up for debate and will vary situation to situation. I'm probably a bit high on the melee side but I'd say 2:1, UA to Melee.

I myself like to make sure my VS hit's as strong as my UA. That's where I try to keep it.

Meh, I don't need any melee. I only carry sword to finish off KO-d opponents quickly, or to hit people on the move if an opportunity comes. Neither of those cases calls for any melee skill.

Punches are just plain better than stings in actual combat, I'd rather have more weaker hits than fewer stronger, since each hit that does damage gives me advantage.

I'd put like 25 melee in because it doesn't take much to allow for it to be a finisher in Combat if you do it quickly.
