OK - So, I drop a boar's HP down low enough he runs, I chase him a good 2 or 3 screens, and then he runs into the magical Deer of Narnia and they heal him for 100+, thats when I freaked out. He stopped running from me and started running at me. I started running and trying to delay him by zig-zagging into obstacles. Then my stam went dry and I started crawling. So, I stopped and Stood my ground, right as he got to me, guess what he did? Nothing. He just stopped, right against me. He didn't attack. He didn't do anything defensive. I though it was bugged, so I started to run again, but once again, he did nothing when he reached me. I finally got to my boat, he stopped chasing me and just went on with his business.

Known bug. No idea what causes it exactly, but sometime they'll do that without any healing either. Couple pointers

A) Animals navigate obstacles faster than you can, run in a straight line will keep you moving faster.
B) Don't sprint, just run for boars. Anything else can chase you down no matter what.
C) Carry at least a full flask of water, preferably 2-3. That's more in case players start chasing you, but it would have helped here.

Animals won't re-agro you once they become passive, unless you drop combat and re-engage them. Boars will never re-agro you.

Since everyone else completely missed this:

See the little symbol in the corner by the combat portraits of two swords crossed? That tells what parties are engaged. You can click that at any time to disengage from combat (though that doesn't do much good other than tell the other person you give up). When the other party disengages, be it animal or human, it'll go green with a sword and laurel leaf. THAT'S how you know if the boar has quit attacking. This is all in the combat guide stickied at the top if I recall.

It's not so much a bug as just basic AI design. It wouldn't surprise me if we get a new world reset shortly after Salem launches with a ton of changes to things like the animal AI. In my opinion, the thing should just keep running for the hills. Spooked animals don't know what 'stop' means, unless it's the headlights of an oncoming car.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I think he's more referring to the fact that the Boar can sometimes reaggro and stampede at you, yet not do anything. I've had it happen very similarly. They run at you and just follow you even with the dual-swords in the top corner.
Back, I guess

contrary to the boars wont re aggro you rule, i've had villagers who have been reaggroed. just to be on the safe side, i never run in too far after a boar. firstly another may be further ahead or a nice bear waiting. in general if u run in enough, the boar will generally come back to where it was attacked.

unless u discover the various items needed to make soemthing then you wont have that option available to you.

dont start this game thinking you can mine isntantly. learn how to play it, kill you bunnies, dry your hide, make your leather, go on to hunting bigger animals, colelct bones, make bone glue, farm, bake some stuff, feed yourself, discover the way the game works.

good luck:)

I'm past all that. I've killed multiple boar, and butchered them. And as far as caves, everytime I go in one, I get slapped with "Someone owns this land."

youre past the very basics of a newb, but youve still go things to discover in order to mine. like i said, it isnt the first thing players start with. unless you have a village of people behind you who can provide you with a ready made mine/cave and tools to simply require you to go dig. ive had newbs dot hat when their industry slider was up high enough.
