Well, it surprised me when it started to revert. I didn't think about posting anything, though, as you don't hear too much about people grassing over mudflats.

It should work for OP then, I recall loftar stating that tiles don't remember what tile they were previous to the one they were. Meaning that it most likely just reverts based on what is around it, not what it was previously.

Can you turn mountain into stone paving and then to grass?? Or dirt?

NOOOO!! Don't waste limited mountain terrain!!

Don't plant trees there, simple enough.

What you can do on mountains is very limited, basically just pave.

Could have been, but doesn't that just leave dirt? This was mud. Got enough troughs to feed animals for a few days.
