The first time I died this world was especially painful because our village was not safe to return to after the attack. It was quite a shock to go from a relatively comfortable village life to being homeless, armorless, hungry, and studying q5 cone cows. So I decided to prepare for next time fate strikes. I found a nice place deep inland and made a little sanctuary.

'Emergency Supplies' in my sanctuary included...

~127,400 LP personal claim so I can declaim it immediately and buy 50 exploration
~A few cupboards of int and perception food
~Spare (low q) merchant's robe and ranger's cape
~All basic tools... mining pick shovel meat grinder scythe etc etc
~Seeds of each type

Since then I did die once and used almost all of the supplies. My god what a difference it made in the speed and comfort of my recovery!

I haven't gotten around to restocking it but I guess I should just in case :?

Get 40 Numen points. Then do what the other people here are telling you.

Also many people play like you do Patchouli. It should be standard that you have your crafting skills on other characters as the fighting skills at the very least since it is so easy to grind upü several chars with the new LP system. In a group account sharing also makes sense so others can fill your mentory when you are asleep or away (of course you should only use that in a very trusted group of friends). Combat alt armies are the next step here instead of one powerhouse or in addition to it, but that is probably too advanced for the Average Joe Hermit.

Patchouli_Knowledge wrote:My method of playing is different than the vast majority of the players out there. I simply do not have a character or two that I consistently build up and become attached to but I grow a large amount of characters for different task as well as a few combat characters and stored ones in the case of the demise of one of the character. For others, killing a character is like chopping the tree down or cutting off the limb. For me, it is losing a branch. If I lose one, I grow more.

I think most of (us) play that way.
5 MM alts - easily replace my main for Marksman combat
5 UA alts - same
1 Cook/Survivalist - Courier (Dedicated courier alt, never scents outside of village)
1 Farm/Surv
5+ Courier alts for scented business, rebuilt HFs.

Only thing I don't keep are dex crafters or a smith or a miner, yet.

Underestimating shewbread+longterm curios over long periods of time is a mistake, even if you only pull 100 MM over a month that's 100 MM closer than a fresh alt, for damn near no work.

My strategy for if my main dies is to start drinking

I play 3-5 characters at a time so if one dies, it's not a huge problem.

Weirdly, I think there is no one living around my area or any animals, if I died I would try to find my home or rebuild it far away from other people and get all my skills and LP back.

I have 1 main with 2-3 psuedo-mains (100kish lp to being viable) so when my MAIN main dies, one of the psuedo's become the new main with barely a hiccup.
