I don't think hes had 30k to his name yet let alone enough to get Theft. No need to scare him like that =)

People leave metal unclaimed? What is this world coming to? Anyway, people should know that there are consequences to taking stuff from claims.

I actually had that problem in w3. One of my members was keen on taking metal tools, nuggets, and bars, putting them in small chests, and leaving them out in the woods and logging out. Sometimes he'd bring them back, sometimes he'd forget them entirely.
He also refused to have his plot in a walled area because he loved the picket fence aesthetic. I had to kill a guy twice and raze/murder a small village to recover goods that he lost us.
People really do leave metal goods out in the open. I imagine it's because they weren't the ones who mined it up in the first place and have no sense of its value.

You're right though, it's good to let people know that criminal acts aren't safe and there are lots of people running around looking for scents to track. No one really needs reason to kill and giving them one doesn't help your cause.

Common metals are not quite as valuable now. Getting to ore is much easier and there's more of it. W3 you had to be in a village or rent a mine, now anyone can find ore anywhere they're at if they're willing to put the work into it.

why does my game frequently become laggy and unresponsive, especially indoors, when I enter a these timber houses it takes like 20 seconds to respond every time I click on a cupboard or move, not always but often

Minor lag has been a constant lately. Very sad, but tolerable (outside of sparring/combat).

Destroy the house, it's the only way. And it's not a safekeeping trick, it's what happens when you crash indoors while carrying a boat.

ok I'm not doing too bad now, I've got a good flow of curiosities and 312% learning ability + I plenty of food, eating mostly fished perches lately because I want more intelligence. Got 10 exploration and 15 UA, I and 2 friends from wurm are looking to start a nice place not sure what to look for in searching a location, atm there's 2 things on the list: Inland (not near rivers/lakes) and near clay/mountains/ different terrains... or what would also be nice is if we could join an already established village, with the requirement that they be PvP lords 8-)

I also wonder about this map: http://adf.ly/700139/banner/http://algeralith.info/HavenMap/?x=-1.31&y=39.51&zoom=9

is it constantly updated or is it like wurm and just an old map dump which gets updated once of every few years?

I am a big lover of PvP and raiding etc but I think this lag is seriously ruining all the fun, it is so frustrating to constantly lag all the time while I'm doing things but I can't even imagine how annoying it would be in PvP, especially when the stakes are so high in this game

- Making a village -

want to use natural walls to protect side, need to know whether or not this so called 'glitch jumping' is still around, people say it is but some say "lolno"

who actually knows?

if not then I will do hill+wall at top tile, which is impenetrable defence?

People discover new bugs all the time - I think the safest thing is to build a wall all the way round.

Nothing is really an impenetrable defense... there is a bug at the moment which allows people to jump your walls/cliff/whatever, for example. I don't think its being used that much at the moment however.
