Hmm okay, and by keeping it zoomed out, what do you mean? like keep the mini map zoomed out?

Also what else is there for me to do to progress while I'm at this level? Apart from waitng for my cows to finish?

Go to options and enable zooming with mousewheel. Then zoom out as far as you can to see as much of the area as possible.

You can still look for more curiosities - dandelions, dragonflies, ladybugs. Also raiding ant hills may give nice curios. When you get the bone you will be able to craft few more curios like seer's bones and primitive doll. Remember to keep changing your personal beliefs towards peaceful whenever you can, to max out learning rate.

Toads can be used for Enthroned Toads. Which are pretty good curiosities if you ask me.
