The wall will decay if it is not on a personal claim, if it is on a village claim it can decay on it's own.

No, it won't unless the village is considered abandoned. (Abandoned meaning Authority has drained below 50k.)

Didn't you say someone stole the key..? Surely that just puts you at a risk altogether if you do stay, because as soon as they get some black skills, either you're gonna start losing your stuff, or be murdered altogether. Then again, I could be wrong.
