Boiled eggs are the way to go until you can get regular production of sausage going. Chickens are easy to keep.

Carrots and poppies are always the hardest to find for me. I usually have to trade or snag some from abandoned farms.

my first 3 www were carrots, I snagged poppies from an abandonned farm and finally had to trade for pepper...guess www are all about luck

but yea if you catch a few chickens boiled eggs are a really easy way to get perception(1 of the few foods I eat now along with the list I gave you before) but beets are usually easy to find and if you're having trouble leave a runestone near a neighbor's farm they may be willing to trade/give you a few to start out. also beets give you leaves you can also use as fodder for chickens so they really are a good thing to get

Thanks for your help everyone! I have some peapods and quite a few WWW (and rabbit furs) that I'm slowly getting through my drying rack.

I managed to luck a beetroot the other day and I'm growing it now.

I'll stick to farming for a while - but if I see fish in shallows I'll be sure to keep trying for some Plaice :)

I'd rather use the leaves for chicken salad.
