You can get away from bears at a sprint if you can maintain that speed. Same with foxes. Lets just say animals all move at a small fraction slower than their given speed. It's just easier to say "run" or "sprint" than "slightly slower than...". Apologies if I'm confusing anyone.

I see foxes running at a consistent run pace, could never catch up to them without sprinting. However boars you can close distance on as they move slower.

The reason why you are able to catch up to foxs at times with run speed is because if they encounter an obstacle while they are running, then they will turn and run to another direction which reduces the distance between you and the fox. Boars move at a slightly slowly speed than run. Deers move at a speed a bit faster than run. Bears move at sprint speed. Trolls are pretty rare but I think they are about the same as fox. Ants are crawl speed.
