PS: the devs should make it to where if you out run a boar/attacker they stop following you after a while...

boars stop chasing you if you outrun them for quite a while.
but you would need a long stone road or lots of stamina to keep outrunning it long enough.
and shouldnt you be able to just open the client and play like normal now once again?

They already do. You just need to break pathing and the AI will leave you alone. Giving the animal a straight line path to you means you'll need to be a lot further away before it finally figures you're not worth the trouble.

Foraging is the most useful skill ever.
Hunting is the second most useful skill ever.
After that you need to put some points into Exploration.
Get farming once you discovered the first seeds.
Animal Husbandry -> Leather Working is always useful.
etc

Exploration = foraging success...
Marksmanship = hunting success
Survival = quality success to an extent

I would get exploration and survival up first....say to 50 or so...then marksmanship...after that you can raise other skills however you deem needed...

is that really nooby advice? I've been playing almost a month now and my exploration is at 20(50 isn't a nooby goal to set)

@Cryder, wouldn't it be best to get farming before finding your first www, too many unclaimed farms to pass up getting seeds that way

@OP, how can you have played for 2 months and think foraging is only slightly useful?

This is because you have no infrastructure, exploration, hunting capabilities, or any skills or means to not only survive but improve your condition. You should work on that.

what do you do when you can't find things to gain LP points from? -nvm curiosities.

Hunting allows you get to rabbits and should not be over looked. I have only been playing for a few days (died a lot sadly) but I have more rabit bones then I know what to deal with past turning them into saws or something else. But the bunny slippers (need cloth making too) helps when ant raiding. Plus there is nothing like the fuzzy slippers you can make from them rabbits.

But better you can support yourself faster you can improve yourself. Reread the guides if you need to. So long as you have a forest that can for the most part support you you are good. Though watch out for boars and bears. Died from boars twice. Got balled by a bear as well once. (Well plus dieing from an anthills [was my 2nd woth out dodging the first one before the 2nd one] and drowning (was doing great moving like a breeze then I learned how to swim...). All this is within three days (well for me not total game time as I kind of started late on this past Sunday).

But learn what skills and what Skills to know. Hunting and cloth making are keep. Plus you can make shirts and pants from some of the items you find.

It's not so much allows you to catch rabbits, but to butcher them. If I recall right, you also have to have hunting to raid ant hills, one of the best sources for food and curios in the early game.

If you have extra bones, primitive dolls are excellent early LP, and even decent later on if you can get a good supply of high quality stone axes (which you can if you have access to a mine). Make a few bone glue, too, as you'll need it for a palisade. You can never have enough bones early game.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
