Heya,

I Also have a q about this :

a. If a trader steals smth and sells it to someone else. Can the original owner still track his stolen item?
b. Are there any consequences in buying bloodstained items from a trader? I mean : Are they trackable by the original owner in some way?

Thanks!

a. Yes, unless you use a method to make it untrackable
b. Depending on what it is, the owner might be more inclined to track the thief rather than the stolen object.

When an item has been "stolen" (people can put theft scents on their own items through different means), it will be trackable with the theft scents. You can however counter this in several ways like placing the item in a container in a boat in a cellar, or other methods mentionned previously. If you're trading for bloodstained items or with someone who doesn't have a reputation as a reputable trader, I'd advise using one of the methods to make it untrackable.

Ooo... Thanks for that great peak into the past. I love seeing some of the stuff that's been tried before I joined. I wonder when (more like if) it will return.

HOW can you kill a hearthling who is offline and has done no crimes?

You can ONLY kill someone while they are offline that has committed recent crimes. The time in which the ranger has to act is given by the type of scent left with murder being the longest (about 10 real days, longer given server downtimes).

No, the scent is tied to the hearthling that commited the crime. The scent can lead to the player if they are online or their HF if they are offline. (Theft can lead to the stolen object, of course.)
