LOL. That's good for animals, but you have to know how to use ALL of the various moves, maneuvers, and attacks to win at PvP. (Well, maybe not all, but you need to know more than the guy you're attacking/is attacking you.)

eAe Might as well get an F on my PvP exams instead, good call.

Don't feel bad. I suck at PvP, too. I just haven't really had much practice at it since I tend to hermit and can be pretty anti-social.

It's really hard to be proficient at PvP without being actively emersed in it and not everyone is so eager to do so or have the right mentality to do doing it constantly. A village that hasn't had much PvP experience may not be able to fend off against hardened battle veterans especially if the latter presses onto the shock and awe advantage.

Spar. Try and train, raiders may not use the same techniques but you will learn in time how to block/counter.

Ambush, get some bows, if you have a palisade, you must have archery, right?

I agree with above, but sparring will only do a bit of HHP damage, not a ton, since it can only end in knock-outs.

Sparring may only help with developing fighting technique but it will not help you overcome the anxiety and adrenalin that comes before and within combat. All of the training in the world will do you no good if you end up making too many mistakes due to fear.

if u do not have the pvp skills to take on someone in a fight, and frankly even if you do, since most attackers raid and attack in groups i suggest u do the following:

1. When out make sure u have all necessary armour on, bronze plate, leather armor, whatever u have to protect urself
2. Do not stop to talk to people unless theyre on land and ure in a boat, most people dont generally talk to randoms anyway
3. keep ur screen zoomed out so u can see more of whats around u, so if someone is approaching you do have time to act, and hopefully they havent seen u first
4. Port out if u see someone suspicious or even not suspicious, many killers wil dress as newbs to get u to trust them. if someone is getting close, dont allow them the time to aggro you, port back to ur hf or village
4. if ure being snipped at just keep moving, no one can aim at a moving person
5. if aggroed and ure in a boat jsut keep moving, and try to be out of range so u get deaggroed, if on land dont run when attacked because the blow is apparently harder
6. dont hand around outside big settlements or villages, many will just shoot at people nosing about outside their walls

Yes. Preparation is no good against the all mighty fear.

Okay, that list, the only ones i agree with are "port from suspicion" and "get in a boat and run". The rest just don't make sense to me.....

But developing your fighting technique is very important, if you're CLUELESS, just make an alt account, have him stand around, and spar him.

having armour incase someone attack for added defence makes no sense?
not stopping to talk to people who may aggro you not make sense?

i personally like talking to people, and still do if im on my boat, but past experience has taught me, at some stage in the game, people will simply aggro you once u stop to chat. its jsut risky. sometimes ur lucky and come away with a good kin other times ure screwed and come away dead. but to completely be safe, unless theyre kin, allies or people from ur own village its best not to stop and chat

1. When out make sure u have all necessary armour on, bronze plate, leather armor, whatever u have to protect urself
You should have your armor and equipment on at all times and this is to protect yourself from being sniped. This will also save you when the enemy breaks your defense but not a clean hit so much of it goes to your armor. However gears won't save you from a full damage sting from a decent sword.

4. Port out if u see someone suspicious or even not suspicious, many killers wil dress as newbs to get u to trust them. if someone is getting close, dont allow them the time to aggro you, port back to ur hf or village
It's safer to spot check with your alt.

4. if ure being snipped at just keep moving, no one can aim at a moving person (you labeled 4 twice)
The problem is many of the time, if you are sniped, it is either a miss, an armor strike or a wound and many of the third are knockouts if it is from a ranger bow which death generally follows. If you are sniped within your village, go inside a house. If you are sniped while on the field, assess what weapon do they have. Wooden bow and slings aren't a threat to armor and generally are either newbie raiders or a decoy and just move out. If it is a ranger bow. You have to get out of aggro ranger, then hearthfire or village port out. The last part is very important as if they still have aim on you, they can still shoot even when aggro is dropped.

5. if aggroed and ure in a boat jsut keep moving, and try to be out of range so u get deaggroed, if on land dont run when attacked because the blow is apparently harder
You have to run if there are multiple enemies. The reason why blows are harder is because when you are moving, your defensive weight is zero which means even an ant can deal full damage to you. A better advice is to carry plenty of water for escape purpose.

False.

Also for the OP. Man just fight back. Kill one when getting ganked and see how they'll be more unlikely to attack you next time.

Also, another good technique is to move to them, like if you were chasing them.
Sometimes it works, and people just run away because of your bluff.
Sometimes it doesn't. Then run :D
