How much UA should I have for bears?

For melee probably like 300 or 350, I don't know for sure.

If you're patchoulliknowledge then you can pull it off with like 50 UA.

Damage output is sort of moot for the most part. Kill them in one shot when they're down to 200-250hp though or they'll go berserk and end you.

There is a big difference between fighting a bear with 50 and 81 you know...
Also I had luck on my side that fight.

Also keep in mind that there is a variance many people do not consider often when combating a bear is agility although for the most part, people generally have lower agility than a bear.

300 for a newbie I guess. 150 is enough if you know how to fight. I'm not talking about veterans here with all their tricks. If you know how to use basic maneuvers and skills then 150 or less is enough. At 300 you can punch bears to death without gathering IPs before combat or even using moves to gain advantage.

Jest get into boat, find some bear and try your strength against it. If you can maintain your defense then try working on breaking bear's. If not, then just hop into boat and try later, when your skill is higher.

Don't fight bears, it is stupid and will probably get you killed if you lag at the wrong moment.

Without sufficient strength though, you will trigger its enraged stage without triggering its panic state.

Sorry about that, it was just such an obscene number that I would never have ventured to attempt with any hope of surviving.
