Everyone hates spies. Odds are, if you see someone snooping around your village, they're a curious noob or a spy. Some people, nay most people, prefer to err on the side of caution when you can be attacked from anywhere at any time. Of course, if you attack someone outside your walls, there's all those messy scents left laying around someone can come and snag.
