if you leave criminal scents you can be summoned anywhere with no hf, makes it so the guy killing you doesn't leave criminal scents everywhere(though vandalism needed is a summonable scent). if you've been summoned, and you log in before you've been completely killed you'll be wherever that person summoned you. I think you completely missed the whole point of this thread.

criminal acts 101:

if you went on someone's claim, opened a container and picked up an object, it's theft and you left a summonable scent. even if you didn't actually take the object home. even if you put it back in the container.

if you opened a crate on his claim and ate a blueberry - it's theft and you left a summonable scent.

if you opened their cupboard and dumped the contents on the floor - well, you get the point.

also, it's very likely that the person who summoned you (yes, they summoned you via a scent that you left somewhere) wasn't related in any way to the place where you left scents, just that they came across your scents randomly and killed you for the lolz (or simply so they could take your equipment and curios)

the moral of the story is, first, turn on ranging the same time you turn on criminal acts ESPECIALLY if you don't know what the fuck you're doing as far as which actions produce which scents. and secondly, NEVER leave your hearth fire outside, for any reason, if you have active scents out anywhere.

oh yeah, and if you punched your friend and knocked him out (he lays on the ground with stars circling overhead), thats a summonable scent as well.
