I saw a video awhile back of a raid within which the attacker's clients auto aggro'd hearthlings that came into render distance - perhaps this is what you're referring to? It does seem rather unfair to me, having such a massive advantage in a permadeath game. Then again, I also think it's unfair that most clients come with hide and nightvision features, but there you go.

I know you guys don't want to hear a noob cry about dying but I think I'm rightfully sore about losing over 300,000 LP of progress for such arbitrary reasons. It feels like there is an arms race of software going on and if I fail to participate I'm vulnerable to suffer the consequences for any reason, including crusades to depopulate the server. I'd at least like to know what I'm up against.

I'm trying to figure out how to compile graphics mods so I can make things a bit more distinguishable, then share it with my friends. I haven't read about how to change tiles anywhere, though. Can radiuses also be added to hearthlings this way? I don't much care for doing it, but I like the crafting system and spent all this time learning the game so I think I don't want to give up yet.

Sorry, this seems like it would be better answered in the Wizard's Tower but I felt like it would be a sub-par quality thread for that board.

If people are using bots to engage in combat, they'd be pretty easy to get away from unless someone is there at the computer. Besides, the only way to actually aggro someone at max visual range is with a ranged weapon. Call Down the Thunder has a maximum use range, outside of this you'll approach the target first.

There's a tool for changing the graphics resources stickied in The Wizards' Tower.

It very well could. You could even set it to color the circle the same color as a person on your buddy list.

Thanks, I did notice that and wouldn't know where to begin otherwise. Color-coded radiuses would be neat. I'm not quite literate in programming so it took me a while to even figure out how to set the CLASSPATH for JDK to make .jar files. I figured I could just locate the shadow sprite for hearthlings and turn it into a bright yellow semi-transparent circle. I don't want to bug people for low level tech support so I'm still working out the basics.

That did not go according to plan. I don't know why I assumed it would be centered. Back to the drawing board. It would be a great feature if someone could work it out, though.

If you get this to work I'd be very interested in downloading it.

Thats false, u can aggro with punch from any range, or call down the thunder, or any move for that matter.

Any ways, it's more likely people are just fast at aggroing any one they see.

@RMM, if you work it out, you can add it to the enders.
Hope you have a great day
