This 'unsprouted' thing, is it like with cheese, where if you fill the tray without taking it out of the rack, the timer never starts? Maybe try taking the unsprouted tree off the table and putting it back again, then see what happens. And note that if you're full industry it's going to die anyway, it's only guaranteed to sprout if you're full nature.

Yes, I took it out and put it back in, and then it started sprouting. But it died anyway. XD
