Guys, please answer my question?

I ask the question because I detected a very thin pie slice, I moved along the direction of the slice(the one thats not the tip), then for 10 steps each prospect and for 7 times got the result of no mineral.
So, I really want to know what does the thickness of the pie slice means, and if the mineral is close to me or far far far away.

People aren't answering possibly because people don't know for sure. Kinda like beehives.

I always thought that the pie slice has NO meaning relating to the distance between you and your target. All the slice means is "THIS WAY," meaning that the bigger the slice, the more potential directions that the target may be located. The smaller the slice, the more precise your heading is. If a pie slice is 90 degrees in size, then your target can be located anywhere in that span. At least, that was what I always thought.

thats correct, already proven so too by prospecting from different angles and consistantly showing that it always led to within the pie slices

as for the size, no clue on any why and how questions about it.

I have this going on right now:

000
0X0
000

The X is where I am standing, and this is with two nodes. When I stand on the middle spot I get a thing coming up saying to go SW. now if I move one block in any direction and prospect I get no minerals found, but if I go back to middle I get a arrow again.

I'm facing similar situation as you, if I move I get nothing, If I go back I get something.

There was another recent post on this. It's a chance of finding something, there or not. If you found it once, just keep trying and you'll hit again. move a few, stay in one place. it doesn't really matter.
