As for rotation, it simply depends on the direction from which you place them.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that objects placed in carts and boats now take decay hits. Or is that just for animal carcasses? Or do animal carcasses have their own decay timer? I'm all confused now!

One could potentially exist outside for weeks without blowing up, but then you could build one and it blows up 30 minutes later. If you want to keep some outside, store them in a cart or boat.

so how do people do this? D:

:D i take it collin sent you that pic?

those cupbaords were freshly made for the feast, and were only put put there to store food eaten during the feast, then they went back into mansions. they were only out a few hours.

We do use cupboards for farming, to sort seeds, we store them in carts, and dont leave out for too long. the occasional one will decay and blow up sometimes, but its the easiest way we've found to farm and sort seeds outside in the fields. they cant be jsut left out sadly

This post here. It was never verified and we've started some tests and so far we aren't finding a change.

Animals have their own decay timer starting from when they die, it will only pause during server downtime. 8 hours for the decay of hide, 8 more for meat and intestines and 16 more for the bones.

Cupboards in boats and carts definitely do not take decay hits and break. I'd say that's a valid claim to say that objects stored in them do not take decay hits.

Eh, gonna ever so slightly derail this for a quick confirmation. Mines count as indoors, right?

Indeed. A more appropriate place to ask this question is the stickied thread for simple questions :P
