Thanks man.
I was travling for about an hour on foot throught a vast forest. and I found a giant Plane. only 2 people have settled on it and one is a tiny little hut, im not even sure if that guy plays anymore and another is a bit south of that hut witha tiny palasade that covers half of it i guess thats all he had time for. Im going to settle here more north near the tip of the plane where it is covered by forest, and on the west side on the map there is a "White Forest" looks like snow on the map
the ones that are incredibly unable to pass with objects such as carts etc.
I have claimed a bit of lane since i came here im stickign with half my claim on the plane because i think Animals Spwan on Green planes, I.E - Chickens etc. So i hope to start a chicken coop soon, i just need Wheat seeds for foldder.
I managed to collect another "Itsy Spider" web that will give me about 9k LP depending on how much my Peaceful/Change is up ive moved it twice, almost a third. Hopefuly before the Itsy Spider web fully studies i can get it a fourth for a higher % lp gain.
There is a clay Node near me Far Far to the north its not that far of a travle. and there is a river bed far far to the south or west across the Wasteland Forest, but i wouldnt dare travel through that place with a boat its already slow with nothing.
I've managed to fish, gathered Bones/seeds/fur. I have 2 pumpkin seeds growing, and some popeys.
I cannot make leather yet because, i decided to hold off on leather and getting yeomany would have been more of a better choice to save my items. but in a couple days time im hoping to
- Expand my claim more
- Make Leather ( does the glitch with the cart still work?)
- build a house

Yes, the leather bug is still here. Also don't bother expanding your claim untill you can build a pali on it. Moreover animals don't spawn on pclaim, so by however much you expand it over that plain you lessen your chances of getting some.

Well ive never buit a palisade before in my life, because ive always been a hermit so a regular gate was always substanable for me. So i'm not to sure how to build one.

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Palisade that's a pretty good read on palisade, pay notice thou to the number of resources it requires as it can be a litle though at the beggining. If you've found as abandoned place as you hope then you'll have little need for it but then again you'll have little need for extending your claim. However sooner or later someone will wander by your place and then claim protects nothing while a pali will stop average griefer, thief.

To get the leather and glue, you can go hunting Aurochs by boat, use a sling, and carry plenty of rocks.

If you want to collect a corpse move away from the aurochs to "de-aggro them" then go back and collect.
{READ UP ON THIS TO FULLY UNDERSTAND IT if you dont already}

If you marksman skill sucks (realistically you need 20) then you will have to get your materials from rabbits.

For the string you can use root, nettle(if your perception is high enough to see them), animal hide(if you have any to spare), or plant flax and/or hemp seeds for plant fibres.

Alternatively you can trade, you can trade curios or blueberries for the materials you need but be careful if you choose to go down this road.

Pm me your general coords, not your exact coords and il see if i can help.

You can get enough leather and bones from just mass slaughtering rabbits and chickens.

To be Honest, ever since i started playing again I havn't stumbled across any wild animal besides 1 fox a few chicken, and rabbits.
I havn't seen any Deer, Bears, Boars, Goats/Sheep cows etc.
i did though happen to stumble across a Dead Deer on a river side, along with a boar Corpse that seemed to just lay there. So i went a ways down the river to go fishing for about an hour came back and they were still there so i took them. I did't think any thing of it. I mean if someone did happen to just leave it beside the river fair game right?

Yeah, a lot of more advanced villaged leave anything less than bears laying around because it's easier and faster to haul back the meat only. This is a great source of bones. Look around grasslands as you'll see a lot of mouflon and aurchosen bones.

Are you using the standard client ? If so it will more difficult for you to spot animals etc.

If you download the Ender client, you see more on the screen, and it will tell you if an animal is nearby on the map (that you might have missed with the standard client).
