you are pretty much have to start all over... or build a ram
but with around 200 str total it still takes around 20-30 mins of ramming a palisade...

I believe if you made a cornerpost now (leaving only 1 space) and then a few wall sections towards east (on the image bottom right) and then another cornerpost, and then wall sections towards south (bottom left on the picture) and then yet another cornerpost in line with the current cornerpost, you could make a sideways gate blocking the entrance... (kinda hard to explain, maybe I should draw, but I am lazy right now).
Yeah, I get what you mean.

But that wouldn't allow me to get a cart inside would it?

Damnit. 20-30 minutes ramming? with that amount of strength?

two characters with 10 str... would that take hours and hours? I really don't want to have to start from scratch again, lol...........

So, Palisade walls have a 25 damage reduction thing. Rams do 20 damage.

I have 12 strength, so really I'm only doing -5 damage?....

I should probably abandon this settlement and never make this mistake again right? :(

The wiki is a powerful tool. A lot of good hints and tips can be found there.

ringofbrodgar.com wrote:For practice, one may try building a small Roundpole Fence. The game mechanics for building the fence, Palisade, and Brickwall are identical. If you make a mistake with the fence, it's easy to see where you goofed up and correct.

Another trick that is helpful: stick signposts there so you don't build over where you want to put your cornerposts.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Thanks. I put signposts where the gate was going to be, but not the cornerposts next to it.

It's salvagable, if you feel like placing a cornerpost and making the gate go outside the palisade.

Also the easiest way to tear down a palisade solo using a battering ram with low strength is by making 3 fresh alts. With 4 10 strength characters, it would take a total of 3 minutes 43.75 seconds of ramming, excluding time taken to regain stamina. All in all, 15 minutes between creating 3 new accounts and the segment being destroyed if you don't fart around :)
