No, just lazy mistake from not double checking my typing.

But man, it is a terrible one(if I had known). So don't call an Asian a twon....

i guess it can be common enough that some dudes camped at my crib after they killed my one character in order to kill some more characters haha

Depends on karma. Russian players are generally VERY evil karma, so avoid them at all cost, unless you have some vodka or spirit :P.
Also - this game is 100% hardcore, if you get robbed and saved your life, you are fine anyways. If you died and have items to rebuild then you are also fine.

Here are some tips:
Store precious things on alts.
Information is vital, don't share silver node locations or your base especially.
Keep your base away from river (pirates are EVERYWHERE), also from russians (preferably poles too, I am pole too, but many of us are really bad karma too).
Build a palisade.
Use crossroads, get tea for TW (needed for most fast travels) to teleport against the wall. You may also want a key alt, but since everyone would want one in your base it's dangerous.
Build brickwall ASAP.
Never-ever understamine value of safety.

Killing noobs in HnH is like national sport in-game. :) More skeletons you have, bigger your e-peen is...

Inb4 killing a bunch of alts to increase e_peen. Really though killing noobs is boring. Making them cry is not, though. If you can take death nonchalently, you deny them a bit of fun and get some respect. Sometimes...

Yah, I was expecting when I first was introduced. Though I envisioned more interaction/reason before someone kills. Not to torn about it, just needed to find a safer place to settle. Complete freedom was the appealing part of the game for me. It allows depth.

I've been playing about a month now, and only recently started coming across bad types. Well, not me specifically, but one of the friends I am playing the game with that set up a claim next to me. Based on what I've seen over the last 3 days (and speculated would be the case the moment the first attack happened), the raiders have been showing up intermittently every night now that they know there are active players on the settlement. We made the mistake of building next to a river (though, to be fair, we started on a small island and didn't have much choice in the matter), and now we're quickly working on moving to a settlement not far away where we've already met with some rangers. Overall, I haven't had any real bad experiences with players. There's the one (as far as we can tell just one) that has killed my buddy once and raided his claim multiple times, but even then he hasn't really been griefing; he only takes LP items. And he hasn't even bothered the other two claims we have right next to it. Otherwise, I've come across about 7 or 8 players just traveling around, and they've all been pretty nice, or at least neutral.

The best advice I can give you is that if you get hit once, it's going to keep coming. Unless you have a brick wall to dissuade raiders from bothering (which, let's be honest, brick walls are out of reach for starting players for quite a while, if for no other reason than needing metal), they will likely keep coming back for more until they are convinced that there is no reason to keep coming. Until you can make a brick wall, just pack up and move elsewhere if you get raided. As you've already figured out, based on your post, looking for areas far away from bodies of water is your safest, albeit a bit inconvenient, bet. With boating being the fastest way to get around, most raiders and griefers will spend their time traveling waterways to find settlements to target rather than slowly trotting across land with the risk of having to deal with bears along the way.

Mmm, yeah, staying away from water has been my big one. I got seriously "harassed" if you can call it that in my original settlement. People came daily to destroy my stuff, rob me (though the best of the stuff I had were just a couple rabbit pelts and stupid shit like that), and even left skeletons and runestones saying "leave" and stuff like that. I walked only a couple minutes inland, settled down, and haven't been bothered for five months (since I moved). And I meet a couple friendly players who walk past my settlement to say hi often.
