Well in that case i've never had a collapse while snake mining...Maybe im just lucky...But i've never been lucky before :lol:

I did snake mining with and without cave-ins...my guess it's just about luck :P

Cave-ins with successful snake mining are rare but I had them happen.

Basically if you want to keep it safe, just mine in a way that you mine 2 tiles then switch direction (left or right).

It's not a glitch. There's a post from one of the devs about it being quite intentional as a way to explore for minerals. On lower levels, it's almost necessary as running all the wood needed for supports would be a nightmare.
