how do i hunt?

Ok, I think I got an idea: the bar should become yellow or green. But, well, I may sound even more noobier, but...
it remains red even when fully recharged!
Do I need to do something else for it to become yellow and green? I tried to wait, but it was still red
Maybe raise markmanship to some level? Currently I have markmanship 2 ( I thought raising it by 1 would help, but nope)

wow the lower your mm the slower your bar will rise. there are little marks at the side of that bar, and as you reach each of those your aiming speed will slow if your skill is really low. at 2 mm it would probably take you 30+ minutes to aim and actually get 1 shot. most people recomend 10 as a minimum, but if you're determined you can take a fox at 5!

also what quality is your sling? noone asked you this so far, but its pretty important.

1.step find rabbit or chiken or anykind of animal that doesnt hurt
2.step do not right click, just stand where they are
3.step turn sprint on
4.step (make sure ur just in front of where the animal is or its best to stand on them) then right click on them
5.step if you caught it go to your inventory and right click on a rabbit or chiken then do wring neck
6.step u got a dead animal and then again right click on them and butcher

your bar isnt going up much simply because ur mm is so low. It jsut means you need to wait a long time for it to rise so requires a lot of patience but it is doable. also fencing in foxes can help. if you arent aggroed to them they wont attack you, always pick ones close to shoreline and just surround in sign posts using branches. that way they wont run off and wont run into you if you're close to the shoreline. My issue with foxes early on was them running away after a hit or two.

My first sling was q 6 and managed to kill a bear but my mm was around 10 or 11 still took over an hour to kill because the meter took so long to go up!
