only reason I built a wall is because of idiots dragging animals across the town and destroying things...and being killed in the process. wall your stuff my friend it's the only solution!

I'm not going to move, guys, I like Brodgar.
Nobody is attacking me yet.
I'm just asking how to secure it against such things because they happen to my neighbors.

Thank you for the minehole suggestion, I hadn't thought of that.

My current plan is a combination of trees and disjointed palisade sections.
I figure bears and boars can't squeeze through a half-tile gap so I'll shift-place the palisade parts when I build them.

The dock I had is sortof useless now that there's a gigantic bridge anyways so I don't care much about my patio at the moment.

Unless I'm missing something: Build a palisade right up to the water's edge. People can walk around it in the shallows, bears can't.

Then something changed. You used to be able to pave all the way to the water including the partial soil tile on the edge. You could then start a CP there using shift-placement to make sure you're right on the edge. I haven't done this since W2, but it definitely used to work.

That was changed in w5 to prevent impenetrable island vaults.

Animals and trolls can't destroy cellar boulders. Unless it was patched within 10 days.
